off topic but the reason you need the quotes is becuase of white space in your path to eqgame.exe

i.e

C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\eqgame.exe

the space between Program and Files causes msdos to trunicate (spelled it right <shrug>) the text as if the whitespace was an end line character, so passing it in quotes sends it as a single string. then the patchme after is passed as an arg to the program.
