correct. the zone servers host the zones. they're built to load zones on demand.

so if there are 100 hundred players in 5 zones and one moves to another zone which is not loaded he would get disconnected?

anyone know what happens if i would run 10 zone servers ? do they need much RAM or just CPU ? because i got 512 MB RAM in my server but only P3 600mhz

if you only have 5 zones loaded and there's at least 1 person in each zone and another person zones to a zone that isn't loaded then yes, they will disconnect.

as to 10 zones, try it out. i usually run 10-15 zones when i have my server on eqlogin.eqemu.net. dont notice much difference. most people i've had on at one time was 23, and only across 3 zones sooooo...
i think unloaded zone servers themselves dont take much, but with a loaded zone and characters in the zone it may. ???

with your system you should be able to run 10 zone servers comfortably, depending on how many people are playing on your server...
