Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere or in wrong forumn, just wondering if its possible to have a server
hosted somewhere other than local host so it stays on when im off?

Other question is, is there a script for the NPC scripting to give the player an item?

yes, there are a couple. Minilogin does not HAVE to be set to localhost, or you can use publiclogin. Neither method is supported, so figure it out on your own. There are several post dealing with both scattered around the boards.

yes, look for some stiky posts dealing with scripting, and search the boards for more info.
