Default DataBase Editing

Whats a good way to view/edit information in a database such as that used for EQEMU? I know mysql........but im not sure how to actually view database information in mysql....and also that is all typing and command prompt fun.....kind of lame.......was wondering if there was an alternative. After i downloaded the database i accidently opened it and up cam .net2003 opening the database. I was curious and scrolled through it and i saw some mob names and item names.....but some of it was just jibberish.....so im not sure if that is usual or if .net2003 could not load it correctly and therefore is not a viable alternative. Any light shed on this for me welcome again...my thanks!

I use phpmyadim. It's pretty good but you need to have a machine running apache/php to use it.

Another big MySQL Command Center fan here too. Accessing it across our LAN I use Star Office.
