Default Creating a Server in an other language than Egnlish ?

I was wondering if it is possible to set up a server other than egnlish ?
(actualy i was planing to setup a french one)

I know that you have to sopy the spells_en.txt file to your eqemu server directory, but can't i use an other one (like: spells_fr.txt) ?

And how do i specify what language is my server ?
Or does eqemu only support english versions ?

Actualy i followed your progress for a while, and nice jobs guys ! ^_^

avec la nouvelle release tu peu faire ton serveur ?
car moi j ai un pti pb il me jette apres un ecran
je voulai savoir si tu avai patcher et tou ca........

Yup, that's possible...


Simply use eqstr_fr.txt from Sebilis Client, spells_fr.txt from the same, then translate all you DB mobs / items into french :p

Humm ok thanks, i'll have a look.

But do i need to recompile the zone.exe or any other file ?

Because the normal isntall only requires the spells_en.txt.

So where do i tell him to use the other files ?
Such as eqstr_fr.txt , spells_fr.txt

Guess the exe are programed to search and use the other ones ...
Am i wrong ?

In fact the thing i'm wondering is how do you specify the server to use thoses other files rather than the "_en" ones...

Rename the *_fr into *_en , then replace the *original* spells_en (or *_us, rename whatever) and it shoudl work...

Don't forget to do the same on your client...

hummm, ok i'll try that out, i thought of it.

But i was wondering, what will happen if an english client tryed to connect ?
would he connect, or is the spells_en.txt file verifyed each time someone connects ?
Will it bug after login in, or will it bug befor . , would get a "your are trying to connect to a server with a different version"... and not be able to log in ?
Not the normal: "you are trying to connect to a different language version... message"
h'ed be asked juste to patch again i guess..

Is spell numbers are the same in english than in French, for example...

Then he wouldn't have any reason to disconnect...


And even if he had a different 'version' (i mean, if french version is late of 1 patch next to english one, ie.: complete healing is 10 seconds on french one, when it is 9 on english one), he would have his client GUI *bugged*, but all woudl work fine anyway...


And for the language thing, don't change the language *.ini or whatever it is on client, just connect with renamed files

Alors ca marche de renomer le fichier fr to en ?
si oui ca serai bien ( tien moi au courrant stp )


Sinon oui j arrive a faire tourner le tou c ok en utilisan la release meme si au depart la DDR avec recompile tournai mieu vu que sur celle la ya rien, vide , aucun mob, rien......
mais ca c un pb de DB
mais a force de perceverance j ai pu faire tourner tou ca a peu pre bien.....
actuelement j ai tous les mobs et tout et tout..... j usque 2 pb que j ai vu jusque la ( des gros ) les vendeurs ne vende qu au magicien de class ( ?) et les mobs ne bouge pas

la je suis sur le point de test une DB ( alpha 3 quequel chose )

not working for now:
Ill upgrade to EQ live in french all file
After ill rename spell_fr.txt to spell_en.txt AND spell_us.txt
and put them all in eq folder and eqemu folder (worlde.exe folder)

When i launch it said error 1042 wrong language server :(

Default pour mettre en FR

Voila c un peu scabreu mais ca marche:
Ce qui est ci dessous je suis pas sur kil faille le faire a vous de voir
Deja sauver dan un rep a part la version US puis mettre a jour la version FR
puis copier tou ce qui ce trouve dans le rep UIFiles FR dans le US
(pas sur car j ai pas tester si sans le faire tout etait en FR donc vous pouvez enventuellment zapper ce passage)

Ensuite:
transformer le spell_FR en spell_en ( laisser le spell_us tel quel sinon qd zone ce lance vous avez que 1 spell loaded ! )
Ensuite:
Transformer les fichier suivant respectivement de FR vers US:
eqstr_fr.txt --> eqstr_us.txt et eqstr_en.txt
fr_eqtext.txt --> eqtext.txt


Ensuite mettre tous les files ( rep maps ) ci dessous de la version FR vers la version US
copy oggok.txt d:\eqemu\FR
copy oot.txt d:\eqemu\FR
copy overthere.txt d:\eqemu\FR
copy paineel.txt d:\eqemu\FR
copy paludal.txt d:\eqemu\FR

bah le nom des mob/npc en EN ca me derange pas

La alpha 3 oui j ai tester ( les marchand je c pas au niveau des spell) mais par contre ya bien des grid de faites ( mouvement des NPC ) par exemple a crushbone ( y en a pas partou ).
Ca ya des mobs qui se deplace c sur :) c assez drole a voir :) il vont aussi dans les murs et tout... bref c pas au point
