Default Error 2006 - I'm gonna freakin' shoot myself

-Okay, I've tried the permissions thing for MySql (about 10 different ways)
-I've reinstalled my database
-I've patched and unpatched and repatched
-I've reinstalled MySql, EqEmu, and Everquest
-I've typed db.ini,loginserver.ini,miniloginaccount.ini all from scratch
-I've tried several combos of username and passwords
-I've done every possible combination of (localhost, 192.168.x.x, 68.208.x.x, mydomain.xxx.xxx)
-I've tried different version of EqEmu
-And yes, I deleted my.ini from the Windows folder
-I can play on the Eqemu Server

---BUT I CANNOT CREATE MY OWN FREAKING SERVER......

All I get is the stupid #2006 Error when I try to load world.exe.

For the love of everything that is good...please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I also understand that with the newest patch you [technically] cannot create your own server) But I can't even get passed world.exe

THIS IS AN SOS!!!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Post your ini files or error reports so people can see what's wrong.

Go into c:\windows and delete the file my.ini. Then rerun the winmysqladmin.exe, in the c:\mysql\bin directory (assuming you installed MySQL in the default directory), and it will prompt you for your user name and password. REMEMBER EXACTLY what it is... Now make sure your db.ini says the same as you have in your winmysqladmin.exe. Open up a dos prompt and type the following and hit return after every line.
Code:
cd c:\mysql\bin
mysql -u root mysql
GRANT ALL OPTIONS ON *.* TO <your MySQL username>@localhost IDENTIFIED BY '<your MySQL password>' WITH GRANT OPTION;
quit
Note the ' key (apostrophe) it is needed, but dont type the < and > keys.....

I've tried it on a network (Connected directly to a switch)

and at home (connected directly to my cable modem).

But, I'm trying to use minilogin so I'm just using localhost or 127.0.0.1 for everything.

I'm gonna give these new 5.5 Binaries a shot and do a fresh install of everything.
