kicked after logon screen

Well, new problem for me today =( I Can't seem to get past logon screen. I think it is a DirectX issue. Went to windows update this AM and grabbed newest DX9.0b to replace my old 9.0. Never had any issues with the 9.0. Thoughts? Nothing else has changed on my pc except this...

Can you log into live eq?
Have you updated your video drivers?
Have you run dxdiag from the Run option on your start button? Have you run the dxdiag tests? Results?

I have to see whether I actually have any new drivers available. Ussing an older Matrox card. I played on live for the free return weeks without any issues, but that was before my upgrade to 9.0b which I just did today. MS blows..

Ok, I can get in again. Just had to downgrade my dx9 version back to older one.

edit- only seems to work with admin account, still can't log in with normal user account on PC, same kick issue. Shut down all background progs as per station.sony web site, no go =( Guess I'll have to use insecure account for playing =(

Btw, this also happened with my GF 4 Ti 4200. Had to downgrade to dx 9.0 as well to make EQ work.

So if you crash right before char select, try downgrading and installing dx 9.0.

You need to patch to live, then if it still doesnt work, upgrade your graphics card.

patched to live, updated eqw, updated files to 5.6, upgraded geforce ti4600 to the newest nvidia drivers, and my screen goes black after the server select.

do i really need to try downgrading DX?

I am patched to EQLive. I am using an E-GeForce FX 5700LE 256 mb graphics card. I have up to date drivers. I can log into EverQuestLive. But I still crash when I try to login at character select, for EQEmu. Any ideas? I believe I am using the latest version of DirectX.

My friend said the same thing.. he told me there a new patch something related to dx9 last night, getting booted to eqemu server screen trying logging on char. He can log on eqlive just fine.

so it means it breaks em or any fix for it?

I've got the same problem as all yours, but with the diference that i have the directx 9.0 since december, i'll try to play but when i char i get booted always, I've asked what the problem was, and it is that we have patch to live but this problem will be solved very soon, read this:

Yes, you'll have to wait until the developers update the EQEMu software to work with this latest patch. Last time it only took them a couple days. Shouldn't be too long I think...

So as me you have to wait a couple of days because the problem will be the patch not our computers.
