New MMORPG

Hello all as you may or may not know, I have recently acquired the rights to a 3D MMORPG and the software that was used to develop it.
In short the indie gaming company, that was developing it was run by an aquantance of mine, who ran out of cash. I bought his company, his software and all of his dev tools.

A day or so ago I made a post advertising this fact, and asking for people interested in gaming development to come and join us.

Hello, I've recently acquired all the rights and software to a 3D Fantasy MMORPG, that was under development, and then abandoned a few months ago.

We are looking for new blood, so I figured I would post here and let my friends in this forum have first shot at getting on the dev team.

We have server and client code mostly handled, and are looking mostly for fun creative types to fill the following.

C/C++ Coders (Coders being the operative word, since almost everything is powered by a custom compiling script language, that is similar to C/C++)
Level Designers
3D Modelers/Artists
2D Modelers/Artists
Sound Designers (Breaking bones should not sound like someone eating celery)
Quest Designers
Alpha & Beta testers

Good knowledge of 3D Studio Max, or any other 3D modeling program is recommended but not required.

For Level Designers & 2D/3D Modelers we will need people with strong experience in AutoCad or 3D Studio Max, since the level and model design software is a 3dsmax work-alike.

For Quest Designers we would like someone who has experience running a D&D dungeon and knows the current rulesets, like the back of their hand.

In the future we will also be looking for Dungeon Masters and GM's

We have and will freely provide the design software to all who are interested and I will be starting a website to handle development and marketing of this new game.
The software is very good, and allows import and export to most popular formats, as well as in software modeling.

About the game...
When I acquired the game a few weeks ago, it was entitled "Genesaria", I have since abandoned that title and will have a contest to name the game.
It is a Fantasy MMORPG with some sci-fi elements, and would be alot like Everquest/Anarchy Online if they were to cross breed.
You start on an earthlike world, however exploration of other planets is possible via transport pods(think AO whoompas here or EQ PoK Books), this is because beings from other worlds are settling in the distant lands.

There are no set classes, you start as either a melee, caster or healer base class, and evolve into anything you care to become.
This game is not a hack & slash RPG, however there will be times, that killing becomes nessecary.
The game will allow level advancement via tradeskills, combat, magic mastery, and hopefully a plethora of other ways.
When you level you will be given a certain number of "points" to spend on either base stats, or what will be called mastery points, which function like AAs in EQ, or are even tradeable for cash/gems/toys what have you.

Quest completion will rarely require killing a mob, or number of mobs, however there will of course be a few "Kill The Bog Lizard to save a kidnapped child" type quests.

At present there is no way to add houses, but this is planned.

During alpha and beta there will be no fee, and anyone who joins either the dev or the test teams, during this time will not have to pay a fee when the game goes live, they will have a permanently free account. When the game does go live the planned fee is expected to be about $5 USD/per month. And anyone who devs during the Alpha and Beta phases will be guaranteed a salary or royalty depending on if they are coders or modelers.

This is a great chance for any of you aspiring gamers, to help make a great new game and get paid for doing it.

The owner of this forum has stepped up to the plate and offered some resources, as well as help in content development.

I currently have a sf.net project going by the name of genesaria and am waiting final approval. If all goes well, that will be the primary point of development.

All who choose to join and be productive will get the following...
1 license to a broadly used commercial gaming application (value is $800)
There name in the credits (of course)
A permanently free account, to play with forever.
Some super duper, in game items, and powers.
Prefference on the GM applicant list.
And if really good at there job, a permanent job at the company that will be created to fund this games furtherment.

Therefore I ask the admin that a forum be created for information relevant to development of this as to yet unnamed game. At the time of purchase the game was named "Genesaria: The distant lands", I think the title sucks so I will be having a contest to rename it, once I get a forum going.
