Default An Odd Error

I have recently replaced the eqclient file and the eq host file. Now, I try to get into the servers, but the program eqgame closes everytime I enter the station name and pass. It doesn't give an error message, it just shuts down completely.

How can I fix this?

Hello, to fix this, repaste the correct eqhost.txt file into your eq directory, right click on it, and set it to READ ONLY that should fix it for ya

Is that all I need to have in my eqhost.txt?

You also need to make sure there are no spaces at the ends of any of the lines or it won't recognise it and will crash. Also that is the info needed for the US patch, if you patched to the european EQ pathers you need a different eqhost.txt.

This happened to me. Tryed it a couple times and it kept kicking me to the desktop. I go back and look and my eqhost.txt was edited and it now reads...

I re-edited it, tryed it, didnt work, came back to eqhost.txt and it looked like that above again. Hepl?

It needs to be det to read only or EQ will keep trying to add their servers to it. Make sure there are no extra blak lins or spaces at the ends of lines.

Here's a working eqhost.txt file that you can download and save into your EQ folder if trying to edit by hand isn't working for you.

You've probably gotten a Windows bug that misnamed your eqhost. Go into your folder options and make sure hide file extensions is off and then make sure its named eqhost.txt and not eqhost.txt.txt or somethign weird.

I am able to log in ... but the server list is completely empty. Worked fine this afternoon. Now there are NO SERVERS at all in the list when I log in.
