Problems Logging in

Before i start i want to aplogize if i am asking a question that is already posted somewhere, im very new to this and i have scoured the forum for the past 3 days trying to find answers.

After that disclaimer here goes.

I began by wanting to run my own server, after failing at that for unknown reasons i decided to just play on someone elses server. However, i found that with the newest version of EQ you cant play on eqemu servers yet because the devs havent released a supporting version of eqemu, at least thats what i have gathered.

Now, i have a copy of eq evolutions which is patched up past ldon sometime, so i deleted my eq installation and installed evolutions and did not patch, i changed my eqhost.txt to the

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5995

I made sure no spaces and read only, when i try to log into eq, it says "Error 1010: no server found, are you sure there is an eqhost.txt in the everquest directory" or something to that nature, im sure of the error number though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, im really looking forward to playing.

you cant play by just installing and not patching. you have to patch...but unfortunately the emu is broken atm with the latest patch. just gotta wait
