Hey guys, after the release of both WoW and EQII, neither of which I'm to keen on, I figured I'd head back here and check out my EQ/EQEmu roots. I've been playing WoW avidly, since it's release, but I'm bored to tears with it.

Recently, I've been trying to log onto the 6.0 or 6.1 servers, all of which I recieve the 1017 error. However, I've only got the Luclin expansion installed. If I was to download every single expansion once more, or better yet, install them with the array and clutter of CD's I have from my 5.5 years of EQ...do any of you think that the 1017 would be removed? I.E. I'd actually have the files needed? This could really be the fact that I've patched today, to live. However isn't the :5998 compatible with Live? So if I was to download each expansion, herein, that'd make my 1017 disappear and allow me access to the 5998 servers? Or am I screwed b/c of the recent patch, regarldess of it's compatibility.

I've been away from the community for awhile, and looking to rejoin and help.
So any post to my inquiry, and any answer to my inquiry...about the downloading of all expansions, would be very helpful.

Success, well somewhat. I can log into the only server up. If anyone else comes across this post, and you're an OP of a 5998 server. Load it up please! I'll be checking frequently to see if there are others up.

Since few days, Patched EQ break another time EQEMU...
If you have a 1017 error :( your client is'nt compatible :(
You must wait EQEMU is up to date with live compatible client...
(/Comfort all Devs, SOE is ... CENSURED).

I think yesterdays patch was mostly opcode changes, should still be able to log on, but will have some problems because of the new opcodes.
I'm not positive about that, it's just my guess from what I saw in the #peqops / #npcmovdb irc channels yesterday.
Maybe one of the devs can shed alittle more light on the subject for us, would be nice if this patch didn't damage too much, since the live compat. was looking pretty good.

I had a blast the few nights I played on PEQ! More fun than I ever had on
EQ live! If I have to wait 6 months to play again then I will! And I wont complain! I dont care if everything dont work the greatest..I will help to fix
them!
