I have been wondering if anyone knows if possible to edit the basic skins for the models? Such (old models) make armour look anyway you want?

Not really, but it can be done. eqinside can extract textures, they can be edited in a paint type program, and put back using eqinside. This only effects the client it was done on, and distributing the files (*.s3d) would be a no no unless all the data in them was created from scratch.
