Default Issue with other people connecting to server.

Having a strange problem.

I had my server set up and it was allowing players to enter freely no problem. Now for reasons unknown no one but myself can log in. I have a router and I have the port range fowarding set up correctly with a static IP.

Problem players are having is they can get to the starting select screen, make a character but then can't zone into the first zone I have Thundercrest.

I get the following errors in world.exe
]sending cleint to zone thundercrest <340> at whatever isp
]name:client disconnected <not active process>
][Net_IDENT_TRACE] ISP: First opcode 0x4dd0 did not match expected 0x2ec9
][Net_IDENT_TRACE] ISP: First opcode 6.2world did not match expected 0x2ec9
][Net_IDENT_TRACE] ISP: First opcode 6.2_zone did not match
][Net_IDENT_TRACE] ISP: First opcode 0x4dd0 and length matched 464

then on the thundercrest zone log
it just gives a ton of not matching errors just spamming the screen

Any clues anyone as to what is going on?

Make sure they haven't patched to live.
Make sure the zone ports are forwarded on the router. (usually 7000-7100?)
Ensure your eqemu folder on your server has all the files.

Possibly you don't have a map file for thundercrest in your maps folder in your eqemu folder. I know I've had similar problems when I forgot to put the maps in.

Most likely though, since you can log in, they patched to live, or it's something wrong with their client.

I don't think its a patch to live issue. I am actually getting those error codes when I zone into any zone on my own client, though I don't get the spam on individual zone clients just the 6 line error above. I know my version of titanium is fine cause I can go on any other server no prob and its been working fine.

I am not even sure if these are normal or not never looked it that close before, it tells my client is disconnected as well after I zone, in the world.exe

I am also noticing randomly now I'll try to boot a zone and it just won't do it no matter what and I have to reboot the server to get it to work, not sure if related.

I double checked my port range fowarding and everything looked fine I know its setup right cause it worked before.

Stomped at this point as to what is going on.

My guess is that it is a database issue. If your server had a power failure while the server was running, it can cause database corruption. To fix it, you can use navicat to do repairs on the tables individually. It will say if it actually repaired something or if it just completed without finding any problems.

If you were messing with static and dynamic zone setups, that might be part of the problem. You might want to check your zone dump table and maybe your launcher zones table as well to make sure they are setup properly and that you don't see anything odd in them.

Those errors you were reporting are normal. Those are just checks to find which version of the client is being used. You can ignore them as long as they eventually find a match.

Good to know those are normal errors, that eases me a little.

I'll have to investigate it more. Thanks guys. Trev, is there actually a scan navcat does or is it just you have to manually check line by line in each database for errors, I wasn't seeing any options to look for errors. Just fyi never had any power outages. Only issue that MIGHT have causes this was I switched my static IP but I also updated my port range forwarding so don't know how that could cause a prob...

I did a test lastnight and switch the starting zone to something that worked in the past to see if anyone could get on while I went to bed. The only person who tried was able to get in successfully so I am starting to think it might be a zone specific error with Thundercrest. I'll have to try and see if I can get a tester online and see if I can zone them there.

Thanks agian.

Just wondering, I did change one thing in thundercrest (besides mobs), I changed the safe zone corridinates to a the actual zone in. Could that cause problems? It works fine for me but...
