From looking at EthernalQuest (which has forges etc. in some cities) and Trumpcard's item addon, I'm fairly that forges, looms and other tradeskill objects are actually container item that are placed on the ground, rather than door-type objects (you can summon them as items in EthernalQuest, then drop them, and they appear the same as the ones in the cities. (though of course the tradeskills don't work in EthQ!) So until dropping items on the ground works in EQEmu, forges etc can't be added (though they're in TC's item addon).

Once items on the ground work, it would be useful to have a DB struct for pre-spawned ones, not only for tradeskill objects but also quest-related "ground spawn" items.

My 2cp...

I think they are spawned like doors, but instead of calling the modelname (DOOR1FPW or what ever) that an item is called instead. That gives them the information regarding what type of container, and how many slots ect. I think they use triggers like doors, but a different trigger number.
