Default a thorough Understanding Needed Of EQEMU and Functionality P

K i just got started , searched through this forum and all, but i still need to get a full understanding of what this emu and server thing can do. will i be able to play this game through with other people , gain exp, fight bosses and just role play? What are some things that wont be the same on this as on the real eq servers?
Will i see a server full with lots of other players?
Is there a file that i can read that will explain all this to me? please help.

One way to gain a "thorough" understanding might be to take a look through this forum. Read all the "stickys" then do searches on anything specific you might want to know.

The best way I've found to gain some understanding about the game is to play around with it and make it work.

Or just read the avaliable commands listed in the readme.

What the emu does changes weekly as the devs include new stuff.
