Default Why make log in so complicated?

WHy not have a lesser file requirement to get to the nuuby zone?

Why cant a lesser verion of the client be used to get you into the game.

outside of usa these disks (titanium)are very hard to get hold of, min cost to obtain them from uk is about £50.

Even the sof disks around aroun £25 inc postage and customs charge.

There are older eq discs buyable on ebay of kunark/velius/pop etc. (2nd hand discs from uk)

in uk eq was not sold on disk after LDON.

To me it would make sense to have a basic version available for the nuub zone, then to move into the game proper would require the full version installed.

At least then peeps coulld muck about while the spend 7 days waiting for cds to arrive via airmail etc.

yours in frustration....

EverQuest uses a different protocol on the disc sets before Titanium. This is the first disc set with the new netcode.

Every version of the client that EQEmu is compatible with takes loads of work to make it compatible. It isn't like a particular client can be easily added and the older the version, the harder it is to add compatibility at this point, as we have nothing to reference to get the information we need to do so.

If it was legally allowed, we would certainly have some special client packs that people could use to check out EQEmu, but since it is illegal and we don't want this site shut down, we do not provide such files and do not allow discussion of them.
