Default Help with eqhost file

When I Change the eqhost.txt file to

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998

It will will not let me save it or overwrite the existing file.

please help

UAC causes that problem....Copy the eqhost.txt file to your desktop then make the needed changes then copy the file back to your Everquest folder.

You should be able to overwrite the file with another file but not with a save option from within. If the problem persists disable the UAC in the control panel/User Accounts section then restart your computer. Afterwards the problem with not being able to save or overwrite files should be resolved.

An easier, and IMO better, way to fix this is to not have your EQ clients in the program files directory. Put them somewhere else, like c:\eqclients\... and you'll have no issues like this and won't have to worry about the other issues that can arise from the special program files protections.
