everytime i open it (winmysqladmin) the light says its green but when i try to add an eq database it keeps saying not connected.
I've tried everything, from uninstalling, reinstalling, and deleting the my.ini file and making a new account..

Mysql is really simple.. If you've got a green light, you should be able to connect to the database.

First, open up a command prompt, and cd to the c:/mysql/bin directory.

Once there, type 'mysql'

You should be in the database at this point, if you do not receive an error message, the database is up and running. If you get the mysql> prompt, you are in and connected.

Where are you getting an error, your post is rather vague.

ok, this is what i do.
i open mysql c:\mysql\bin and open the file "winmysqladmin"
everything boots up and when i click the database tab nothing shows up in the database (theres suppose to be 2 defaults right?) then i right click in the databases and click "create database". but all it says is "the server must be connected"
oh and i did what you said it gave me an error msg, "error 2003: 'can't connect to mysql server on 'localhost' <10061>

Try rebooting first.. then open winmysqladmin, and make sure the database is started.

Then try to connect via the command line.

Only guess I have is you used the wrong username or password for mysql...

Anyhow, www.mysql.org is the best place to start, check the faq over there, and look for links to troubleshooting or help.

if there aren't any zones connected to world it will be listed as locked.

Check the world screen carefully for errors, and fix em
