Default LAN Configuration Issues

I've had an EQ server up and running that can connect to the public login server for a few weeks now. I can start the server and then connect to it without issue.

What I'm trying to do now is to configure the EQEmu server on a disconnected network that has no connection to the internet. I'm running into a few issues that I can't seem to resolve.

If I try to set up EQEmuLoginServer.exe, I can load EQEmuLoginServer, World, and Zone. Based on the output of those programs, they appear to be functional and no error messages are displayed. When I try to connect via the EQ Client, the server list comes up but it is always empty.

I tried configuring MiniLogin, but that doesn't appear to be working either. As with EQEmuLoginServer, I can start MiniLogin, World, and Zone. They come up, no error messages are displayed. I can telnet to port 5998 and see in the MiniLogin window that it is registering an incoming connection.

When I try and connect via the EQ Client, I never reach the server login screen. Also, the MiniLogin window does *not* register an incoming connection.

Before I start posting configuration files, I wanted to get some input on my desired configuration. Is it possible to use EQEmuLoginServer in a totally disconnected network or is MiniLogin the only option?

I use EQEmuLoginServer on a disconnected network with no trouble. I did build it from the source myself, but don't know if that makes any difference. I just added the Visual Studio project file for it to the existing solution.

Yes, it's possible. I'm actually running EQEmuLoginServer right now because I can't reach EQEmulator.net at all from the remote site. : \

Also, you're supposed to be able to list world servers that aren't registered in tblWorldServerRegistration, but I've had some issues with that. So I'd recommend your eqemu_config.xml login server account/pass info match what you have listed in tblWorldServerRegistration, just to be sure.

I always leave that account/pass info blank in my config, I've never had to
use it ever.

Thanks for the advice! I'll work through your suggestions today and hopefully have good news to report tonight. =)

I was able to get the problem resolved. I'm not 100% as to the source of the issue, but it appears to be either:
- A misconfiguration of the login DB and/or server registration
- The hosts file entry on the Emu Server
- One of the files was misconfigured and the full recopy of the EQEmu folder fixed that

My PoTime instancing is broken now (the portals just rise up and sink down as does the zone-out gravestone), but I think that's a flagging issue in that my new character has none and during my "are the non-normal bits of the game working" test, I didn't give him any flags.

Thanks everyone!

Nothing wrong with being thorough rather than lazy.

Dude. That was not appropriate. He was commenting on his method, you were commenting on yours. Don't make this personal.
