Bibles (Perl and C++)
I was wondering if anyone had a good Perl Bible, and C++ Bible. I am wanting to learn more on this, but I am not sure where to start.
If it helps, this is what I am looking for in these "bible(s)":
1. Full list of commands that I can quickly reference to
2. Something that explains a little bit of what each command does
3. Something that can help a beginner (like myself) learn it easy enough
I am aware that everyone has their own learning abilities, and learning curves, but anything that has helped you, I would be more than happy to look into. Also, if you know of any "bibles" that have what I am looking for, and has good reviews, I am happy to check those out as well.
(What I am hoping to achieve with this post is to really stop posting so many "N00B15H" questions on the forums and learn it all myself.)
Thanks to all responses.

LoL, you talking about just searching for that one thing that you are looking for?
I am looking for something a little more in-depth. I understand that Google is great, as I have used it serveral times, but I was really looking for something that allowed me to read more about it when I am out and about and I am waiting. But if these are the kind(s) of answers that I will be receiving, I suppose that I am on my own. I was just wanting some feedback.

LoL. I am well aware of those two, and I have been working on learning a little bit like that. But what I am trying to do, and I am sure I covered this up top, is I am wanting something to read and learn about, a book, while I am waiting, such as in an office, or on my lunch break, or something like that. Not everyone has the means of the internet at any given time, or else I wouldn't have posted this to begin with.
All I want is a book, something that I can physically hold, flip pages, and read. So if someone knows of something similar to this, that would be great.
Thank you.
(Thanks for all the responses so far, sorry if I am being "hard headed" or an "a**hole" but I am just trying to have some concrete to look at)
And no, I am not going to print it out, so please do not suggest this.
Thanks.

If you append the word "book"(kind of counter intuitive I realize) to those google searches then you will find books that teach you perl/c++.
I think the book that will help you the most though is this one.

I see, well I appreciate all the "help" you have given me Caryatis, and I hope that this helps you get your rocks off. I am well aware of how to use google, I am not incompetent, but you must believe that anyone wanting to increase their knowledge is, and I want to make sure that you get the proper stimulation needed for your "endeavor".
Thank you for your "help". I will keep this in mind for 15 years before now. Have a nice day.

No, I'd be miffed if I got a response like that too. I'm sure he or others will end up leaving the scene because of Cary's nature. You'd think we would want to help people learn and not talk down to them because they aren't on the same technological edge. If they're asking for password resets or specific server things (IP Exemps, whatnot), then all bets are off - but the poor guy was just asking for help about coding and got a big pile of ego.

a while back i spent a few hours sifting through my local barnes and noble computer section - and while a bunch of it was outdated or rather limited in information i did manage to find some great resources, was in a store the other day which had some relatively updated books as well, so their selection i think is getting better, id reccomend, if you cant find a good resource for this on the net, take some time and walk through your local bookseller, the larger ones like barnes and noble, should have a nice section dedicated to this stuff. Unforunately i have since lost my resources since my last move so i cant get the names, but ill check again when i get home if i cant at least find one. i found a great perl resource and i wish i could remember the name ><
and yeah sometimes holding a book is 10000x better than reading on a monitor 8D

This site looks like it has a lot of good information on C++ with references and stuff. http://www.cplusplus.com/
GeorgeS has a quest editor with perl referencing to it. here's his site you can look up. http://www.georgestools.eqemulator.net/
Hope this was helpful for you.

Wow, that is all I can say guys. Thank you VERY much for this information. I will be sure to look into and read it some.
I am not going to leave because someone got their toes stepped on earlier that day and just had to "vent" about it to someone or something, I am a very reasonable person.
Thank you again for all the information you provided. With this kind of stuff, I am dedicated to learning in, but I was kind of confused as I didn't want to grab something that looked right, but would end up confusing me because it didn't explain something prior to it.
So once again, thank you all for responses and they well all be bookmarked and checked out

LoL, Well like I said, I am not one to prejudge someone before I know them. I know we all have our own personalities, and that it just takes some time to get used to it, but it's all good. I am going to check out these Sites and my local Bookstores to see if I can't find something worthwhile and edumacational (Yes, I spelled Educational wrong on purpose lol)
