Default Crash using windows 8... No idea help please

The game crashes upon load.... The instruction at 0x041ee086 referenced memory at 0x00000044. The memory could not be read. Any ideas? brand new Asus R503U Series

try going into the ini file or options when you first start up eq and lower the resolution. once in game can reset it to proper resolution you want

Nashoba eqclient.ini make sure you have FullscreenRefreshRate set to Zero
Code:

Width=1680
Height=1050
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32

WindowedHeight=988

I'm a big fan of 800x600 in cases like this. It would be hard to find a video card that didn't support this resolution.

So i dont believe its a video error because even 800 600 wont work im still getting the referenced memory error, i have even tried to set it to run on vista and xp service pack 3 and still same error

wierd thing is, until i could figure out about mq2 crashing it, i was able to get it to character select screen so idk wtf is going on

well see heres the thing, the Direct X9 only one that was direct x9 with end user run time not just the end user run time and it tells me it can only be downloaded on up to Vista

i havent downloaded it but Microsoft site wont let me download theres because they say i have better or equivalent to

I tried it again with a different direct x9 download, same problem except for instead of EE plug in CE

The required version of direct X 9 is also included in the Free 2 Play download from Steam.
