Cant even get Eq window up wineq2 HELP

I use wineq2, I double click the icon on my desktop and it sends a mini icon to my task bar. I then right click the emblem and click my set up path p99 ( the usual I have been doing for years) and now the window wont even pop up. I have also tried using eqgame.exe and others in my sony file and it wants me to delete wsock32.dll and eqgame.dll and im just not comfortable doing that unless someone pc savvy tells me otherwise. any feedback or anything at all would be helpful. ps im running windows 8 on a laptop but use eq game ( run as administrator ) and changed the setting to run the game using win xp.
