Default Lua quest problems question

Hello.

I'm currently having the issue where all of the lua based quests are not working.

I read through this thread:

http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/sho...ghlight=quests

and followed the instructions. I'm currently up to recompliling my server in Visual Studio Express 2013.

If I recompile using the wiki, do i need to recopy all the executables to the eqemu server folder?

Also, will this affect any characters on the server?

Thanks.

If you recompile, yes you will need to copy the new executables over.

If you follow the guide, you should be able to skip steps 6 and 7. If you're lucky you won't need to update the database at all and your characters will be safe.

To be safe, backup everything - there's some detail on how to backup the database on the wiki, and the existing server files+config can just be copy n' pasted somewhere.

Great. Thanks much.

I'll try that and post an update.

Worst case, I can start from scratch. Everyone playing got a disclaimer that the server might need a wipe in the first few weeks while we learn how to work with it.

Unless you properly invoke the INSTALL option.

This isn't in the set up guide at the moment, and it (probably) won't be set up correctly for him even if he did. I'll play around with it and update the guide accordingly.
