Default a bagfull 'o' questions

Q.1. I have just upgraded to the latest version and it all goes well until at the end i get:
Loginserver connect: Connecting to server failed. Error: 10061

Q.2. Error 1001: Could not connect to the everquest server! Please try again shortly.
What is this and how do i rid myself of it?

Hope someone has the answers coz i don't

Hmm maybe you could be a little bit more descriptive about the problems. When exactly does it occur. What program causes it. Where in the login sequence are you at.

o.k.
On World exe. I run it and it says:

Loginserver.ini read.
Using database 'eq' at localhost
Loading items...done
World server listening on port:9000
Loginserver coonect: Connecting to the server failed. Error: 10061

Then i give up and try it without running the world and boot5zones and just start everquest on it's own (but with my gotfargs password) i get:
Error 1001: Could not connect to the everquest server. Please try again later.

The world server has to connect to a loginserver, either gotfrags or your minilogin. In this case it is looking for your local minilogin.

Are you trying to connect to the gotfrags or your minilogin?

When you try to run just the client, it looks like your eqhost.txt is pointing to the wrong server.

I know that in the past I have suggested that people get their minilogin version going first, but now I am suggesting to go through gotfrags login server. It is a lot easier to try that first because any problems you experience is either at gotfrags or you own client. And the setup for that is simple-- eqhost.txt.

Worldname is what you want your server to be named on the server select screen.

Change your LoginServer.ini to use eq.gotfrags.com instead of localhost

What does it say then?

If it says 127.0.0.1 , then it says localhost.

it's gotta be your eqhost.txt file, (in your hacked everquest directory) it should read:

[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5999"
}

That's all i've got
