Default Running the "whole" world

I was wondering what type of internet connection and computer would be needed to host the entire EQ world? And also if they're are any websites that would allow you to "store" the world there.

Default Eh?

What do you mean by 'store the world' on a website?

Zones are opened when players enter them, so unless you have an extremely large player-base, it isn't likely you will have to have the entire world open at once.

A system with a decent amount of RAM (512+) and a recent processor (1ghz+) can run a server quite well. This game was made over 2 years ago, and Verant hosted it quite well on servers not as well equipped.

If you don't want your players to lag, I suggest a T1 for anything over 40 people, and a T3 for anything past 500.

Cable can run your server if it's just you and a few friends.

Default well...

What I meant by a website running the world was that, could a website be used to store the server files and such if I had cable and wanted more than a few friends playing?
Wish I could afford T1 or T3...

T-1 - 1.544 megabits per second (24 DS0 lines) Ave. cost $1,200./mo.
T-3 - 43.232 megabits per second (28 T1s) Ave. cost $28,000./mo.

...LOL, thats a bit out of my price range.
