Default support for Multiple Accounts

is there a replacement for Minilogin.exe that supports multiple accounts? We have about 1000 users on our ship that would like to be able to have their own account to play with so when we can only create 8 characters it kind of limits our ability to play a lot and being out to sea makes our access to online server not viable. Any ways any solution would be of great intrest to me. Also if you have some thing can send me via Larry1024@yahoo.com or allen.laurence@lincoln.navy.mil. Thanks for any info in advance.

There use to be a public login that would support up to 8 user accounts at the same time, but it hasnt been touched in ages.. Not sure if it still works, there might be some folks around that still use it that would know something about it..

Unfornately, theres not a public available full logon server

Why eqemu doesn't let to make standalone server bypassing the eqnet?

I'd like to have my own shard but without being forced to login to eqnet first.

And how can I remove this 8players limit?

Minilogin allows for 200 accounts, but with fixed IP's for each account. That is 8 characters on 200 accounts or 1600 characters. Granted for the extreme case of the ship with 1000 players they would have to share accounts/computers. Get the copy of minilogin that was edited for the propper client date code, and MiniLoginAccounts.ini You should then be able to get it working from there.

static IP requirement suxx!

plenty ppl have dynamic IP (including me) so this idea is not worth a penny for me...

perhaps it is possible to make ethernal quest run as a login server for eqemu? (as i've posted iin dev's forum in minilogin source post? i'm just too new to eq to check this out by my self ;/ but i'm still working on it, perhaps smth will work ;p)

Kri, What is the problem with just using the EQEmu.net login server? I could understand larry not wanting to, on a ship at sea. And dynamic IP's don't always change as often as you might think.

Kri: You do know that the eq client sends the information encrypted right? If you want to create your own login server, go ahead. But I hope you have good lawyers if you decide to put out the decryption module (Sony would own you).

Bad idea to do that. Hehe. just use the minilogin it will work for your needs. For your safty allways use the eqemu login reguardles, it can save you from someone hacking into your mysql and killing your server

1) Well I don't really like idea that players'd have to choose my server from a list with plenty other
2) What about EthernalQuest?! They have their own login server distributed with code, and it can be run separatly from world and zone servers.
Perhaps there is a way to use Ethernal's Quest Login Server to make connections to eqemu world server?

If you are inviteing your friends to your server, what does it matter if its in a list of others? Seems like a silly reason to me. Or are you worried they will find a better server to play on or learn more about EQEMu?

Then use Ethernalquest's software. Our loginserver code just happens to be modularized, therefore the decryption can be called from other programs also (which is a bad thing (tm)).

But still, would you put the money upfront for our legal fees? As it is we are still putting out more money than we are receiving in donations. Buying the loginserver and all the fees for development/internet service, we used up 2 months worth of donations just in January. I wish it wasn't so, but I am not going to fight SoE over something as important as the encryption. If you would forward $200,000 - $300,000 (USD) to the paypal account, I would definitely change my mind.

As I said before, if you do not like people putting out free software covering their ass, you can go to Ethernalquest. You would fit right in.
