patching without patching

how do you start up without patching.. changed my animations file so i dont crash to desktop but it keeps patching the old file back in. any help would be appreciated

download eqw 2.3 ( http://forums.eqemu.net/viewtopic.php?t=378 )

or run "eqgame.exe patchme" in a command line
