Default Link emulator servers.

In your next version of emu everyquest can you make it possible where people can link all of there servers togeather. The person that runs the main EMU everquest gets to decide the rules and everything. Tell me what you think!

What are you trying to say? Have some computers run some zones and no world server. If so that can already be done. It isn't too hard just have 1 computer that is running world. Then have other people edit there zone.bat file to point to the ip of the world server. Then when people zone into that zone it would be on the other persons computer. I think the only problem at this point is the fact that the network code is not yet up to snuff so it would lag out.

I had 3 zones running on different computers, seemed decent but still was too much traffic to be comfortable.

At the current time they really need to be on a LAN connected to each other at a decent connection. If they are not, they load slowly on startup, and do not receive the information fast enough to allow people to login through zone servers.. There is not much we can do about this..

Even at 100mbs lan I still saw alot of data going back and forth, making some interesting latency. Later I stuck a 10 mbs card into a computer and tried, man that sucked

Actually a good idea would be to have two lan cards on each computer and two hubs. One hub would be hooked to the net and all computers would be connected through there to send outgoing to the net. Then the second lan card and hub would be for communication between those computers (mysql db, world, zone, etc.). That would take care of bandwidth issues... Oh oh, anyone wanna buy me a gigabit network?
