Default Same problem here

I am in the same situation here.
Select server
Hit the play everquest button
Screen goes black, then comes back to server select.
I get the following error

I am running the server on a LAN, but disabled the XP Firewall just incase. Didn't make any difference though.

Any advice appreciated.

I have posted the fixes about 15 times already. If all else fails, don't use XP. The fixes are all over the place.

a_Guest03, you may have posted what you think the fix is, but it is not working. Please don't presume that we haven't already read your posts. I for one have been through the posts in both General and Win32 forums looking for (and attempting) fixes. Telling us not to use WinXP if all else fails is not a valid solution to the problem.

This problem may only exist for WinXP users (and not all of them it seems), but it doesn't mean it isn't any less of a problem.

I did a search for your fixes...none of them worked. I am using windows xp on my laptop and I can get into eqemu fine and play.
just can't get in local. I downloaded and set eqemu for a local server on my desktop to..which is running win 98 and it gives me the same error also

From what internet connection did you get your laptop patched, Parrin? Was it from your same home line? Also, did you try to patch them on different days?
