Default eqpatcher, patchsrv.dat , any info will be great :)

just installed everything and and the patcher brings the following

EQEmu Patcher

Run-time error '-214728038 (80030002)':

File C:\Program Files\Everquest\patchsrv.dat cannot be found.

{ok}

and if i ran eq , i get the same 1017 error everyone else getting

now if i create a empty file in the folder with the correct name , the error changes for something with the data is incorrect ,

i hope this helps the dev

Good luck hopefully a fix will be soon )

The only thing I can't figure out is why it's only XP users who have this problem... I can't help you. Sorry!

well after i disable everything , and tried, it still the same problem ,
now my guesses it might be with my ISP
so ill download everything to my laptop and try at work

just a small note, nothing to do with WinXP
i got 2 computers at home , one winxp ,firewalled, antivirus
and one clean win98se with nothing on it , still same problem
so it might be something to do with ISP or perhaps you must have SOL which i dont have

ill post more info later on

I'm begining to wonder if some of these problems aren't a mid-stream networking problem. Maybe some bad dope in some DNS entries or funky filtering going on at some ISP or upstream providers.

Default call your ISP....

evidently some ISP's have a transparent proxy that the patcher doesn't work with , call your ISP and ask if they have transparent proxy, they haven't found a workaround yet for it.

Default Patche.exe error

I'm also getting the same problems as reported ("missing patchsrv.dat"). I have WinXP Professional Norton Antivirus, and a firewall, but I have turned off Norton and the firewall and problem persists. Also on DSL.

Also, what's this about EQLive? I ran the regular everquest executable and it patched itself, but it didn't say anything about EQLive. Is EQLive an executable or something, or just the name of the normal EQ patcher?

I'm actually using windows 98 and have the same problem, no firewall and tried disabling the anti virus while I ran it. As far as I know I'm not using a proxy server either.
