just a lil confused

ok, when i open the game with everquest.exe and run the patch program, then open the EMU patcher, then go to start, run, and type in the correct filename and hit ok, i can get to the log in screen... i type in my usename and pass and it says i cannot connect... am i doing something wrong? my friend tryed to help me but he isnt much help

some help would be nice, thanks
