Default I was just wondering...

Is there any way to play EQ while the patch server is down? And yes, i am aware that patch questions result in a ban, but i don't think this question is unreasonable. I wouldn't even ask except for the fact that i saw someone mention a way of doing it earlier, and i know nothing about computers or how the servers work.

why is it illegal for us to send the patch, but not for you(dev team)??

or, is the new emu client going to be compatible with the new eq live client so all we do is patch with live(i'm guessing it's somethign along these lines)

New emulator release should be up to date, working with LoY.

And sending the patch, if you want to.. go ahead. It's illegal as the files are property of SoE. This subject has been talked about so many times.

So instead of explaining, I think this thread should be locked.

It's not a difference in legality, dcjoe - it's against the rules.

all i ask is a reason, is this too much to ask for??

not a "just cause" answer which is just a cop out answer

i mean what did he expect when he started the patch server
us to pay for bandwith? it says in his own faq, its free, and now he's mad cuz we dont pay

well i dont care either way, i got a file list and pulled out a 5 month old backup of eq i had and patched it on my own, so im playing again

Please refer to the yellow part of a_Guest03's sig.

This issue has been covered in many other threads, as well as numerous times on IRC. No need shake up the hornet's nest.

No, he's mad because its not just the EQEmu community downloading from the patch server. It's everyone elce too like everyone using EthernalQuest.

And its the people using the patcher to patch eqemu, patch eqlive, patch eqemu, patch eqlive OVER AND OVER AGAIN BECAUSE they are too stupid to make two folders.

Drop the subject or get banned.
