Hi all, just signed up with EQEMu, think it is a great idea..
But.............
You need this Eqemu patcher thingy to emulate and link to whatever servers are up..I guess from that equest.txe file you can downlaod?
And you can not just use eqw program unless you have the the main EQEMu thingy? {not that is works for me anyway, seems my computer will not run EQ in window mode...DirectInput keyboard open failed, code = 8007005}
And if you can not now downlaod this Eqemu patcher...how can you do anything?

As I said it all seems a wonderful idea but I am getting the catch 22 feeling here. :(
So..and I can here the spams coming my way already...how/what do you need to emulate EQ..or is that done with..and I am too late

Ok been at this for about five hours now..yeah I know..'get a life'
I have gotten the egw program to run..did the patch two hours right there. Got the eq dll not found...moved eqw262 into everquest directory..Am I clever or what!

can not type in anything..bummer..back to the forum..cup of tea for my sore head......run 262 everything well be fixed...no running that ...looking....someone says same trouble..all fixed but doesnt say how....grrrrrrrr
Well getting there i guess..I can read the tea leaves..remember the cup of tea?..and can see.......more trouble if I get past this one with logging in getting on a server and such like :lol:
STill think it is a good idea..and for those that get put off..look at me..bit by bit I am getting there..so there is alway hope
If someone know how to fix the trouble with the mouse and not being able to type anything..please put it up, as it seems a rather common trouble..Oh yes I an an idiot..it said so on one of the links I found here..yes I have window ME..SO if you do reply please use simple words....

This is turning into a saga, not a post.
ok latest re equest dll...used 2-35a and change window to 16 bit colours...worked!
and cleared up the frozen mouse and not being able to type in anything....
but..yes you know its coming
when I try to concet to a server I get a box saying something along the line of you are registed for EQ shadows of luclin but it can not find the luclin files and please check that you do not have one more dir of everquest....and I can not get on a server...as all I have is the ruin of K..I have no idea where this SOL is coming from?
and if it is the trouble or if simply all the severs are busy....again please help if you can..oh that is if I have not been Banned...

OK delete this post, seems you just can not use Eqemu until a new patcher is done and put up..now if that was up someplace in plain sight and explained I want not have wasted all this time and space
sorry to be a bother..got excited by the concept is all..and it seemed I was getting Soooooo close to getting it set up right..pouting.
