Default Error: Dungeon Crawls? Some help, please....

Alright, well, I tried to log onto EQ after finally activating my account, and well, I got an error that says: dungeon crawls. I am not sure what to do about this. Can anyone help? Also, if it helps, I can not downloaded The Lost Dungeons of Norrath, didn't particularly want to because it would take a while, but I will if neccesary. Anyways, can anyone help me with this? Thanks, bye.

You can't play EQLive unless your client is as up to date as everyone elses... Sorry...

So are you saying that I do need to download the Lost Duegons or Norrath patch? If so, I will do it. Also, are there any other programs I am reqcuired to download from this website? Because I haven't downloaded anything...

LDoN is not a patch - it is an extension. Not everyone has LDoN and it is not needed to play EQlive. I have never seen the "dungeon crawl" message so I have no idea where it comes from.

The client is updated automatically whenever you try to login into Everquest, so you don't have to do anything special.

Where are you getting the message? I mean are you trying to access an EQemu server, have set up your own server, or are just trying to log into EQlive?

I guess I'm just trying to log onto EQlive. I open up my EQ shortcut, and try to log on. Right after I click log on I get "dungeon crawls." I am not sure what it means either. -shrugs- But it is frustrating me, nonetheless...

Alright, I just reinstalled EQ. Btw, I dunno if this contributes to the factor of the problem I'm having, but when I installed EQ, it said "Could Not Define Internal Dialogue Box" :( Maybe that has something to do with it, I hope not. I guess that's why the dialogue of the boxes and options haven't been coming up...

Since you get this error with live and you just activated your acount, you could also call SOE and make them fix it

You are a paying coustomer. Just dont mention EQEMU

Alright, well, I think I just took one giant leap forward, towards success. Now, I have text. Now, it only tells me no host was found, make sure the eqhost.txt exists. I changed it to what was said on the guide... What's up now???

EQlive is what some of us call the Sony hosted Everquest. Or just plain EQ.

EQemu i(or EQEMu) is the name for this project, but sometimes we also call it EQ = although that should be reserved for the Sony product.

The reason why I ask EQlive or EQemu is to help isolate the problems. If you problem is with EQlive, then its a matter of doing an uninstall of the client and then reinstalling. And if you continue to get a problem, then call Sony Online for tech support.

If your problem is with setting up EQemu, then things could be slightly more complex but doesn't need to be very complex. You can work on it in stages.

1. Have a working EQ client installation and connect to EQlive
2. (recommended) copy your EQ directory for use with EQemu. Its over 1 GB but it is a good safety move if you have the hard disk space
3. Use your client from the EQ directory (if you didn't make a directory copy) and connect to an existing EQemu server. You will need an account and will have a minor change to one of your client files. Easy to do and the process is document on this site.

If everything works fine and you feel brave, then you can try a server installation. The set up is well document but it can get confusing.
