. . . Don't ask where you can get it here. You will get banned. It's considered warez. And yes, you need it to play on the EQEmu servers. Read the sticky notes at the top of the forums. They're there for a reason.

When you see people refer to EQLive, they mean the official Sony Everquest servers, i.e.

Do you play EQLive ? = Do you pay to play on Sony's servers ?

Patch to EQLive = Run Everquest.exe to download the latest Everquest patch from Sony, after which you need to replace the eqhost.txt file with the correct one for EQEmu servers.

In summary, to play EQEmu 5.0DR4, you need to have patched your EQ Client to the latest patch from Sony.

Hope that helps.

EQlive is really Everquest accessing the Sony servers. The reason some of us use the term "EQlive" is to make a distinction between Everquest (EQlive) and not Everquest (EQemu).

EQemu you can access here.

In either case, EQlive or EQemu, requires a valid Everquest client installation. But you do not need to register with Sony to access the EQemu servers. However, if you are new to Everquest, I would recommend that you do sign up with Sony and get some experience with the game.
