making a PHPBB2 chat forum?

I want to make a PHPBB2 chat forum for my clan on Jedi Knight 2. I have read the readme and the installation but I am not making any sense out of it. I am provided by angelfire, but if I have to ill go find something else like Geocities or something like that. I use Microsoft Frontpage and I upload my webpage from the web shell on angelfire. I just want to at least know how to make it, but making stuff like background or special pictures I can do later. If someone knows where I could find a MAKING CHAT FORUMS FROM PHPBB2 FOR IDIOTS GUIDE, ide love to see it. Or could someone really go through it and tell me like as though I was only 12 yo. Cause I need a really deep how-to guide. I already have mysql program installed and im pretty sure you need it to make one. I used it to make a 4.4 eqemu server.... so any readme's or idiot guides plz post them here. (im 17 of course)

For starters you need a host that supports PHP and MySQL, which neither Angelfire or Geocities support IIRC. Secondly, IIRC, setting up a PHPBB2 is as easy as going to the install page and going through step-by-step. There are also webhosts that have automatically set forums and chats up by simply selecting the folder to install to. Hope this gets you going in the right direction.

What webhosts are those? Ide love to see one. I want it to be a PHP webhost though. Is it free?

I currently use http://www.raine-tech.com/ their cheapest plan is $3/mo for 500mb disk space and 5gb/mo transfer.

You won't find any free named hosts with php/mysql, rarely.. possible but I doubt it. Only possibility is to get a friend that has space which his host supports php/mysql and he is willing to help you.

3 Dollars a month = 3x12 = $36. I'm 15 and make 300 dollars every other week. You said you were 17, I don't see how this is a problem for you.

Maybe if I find it worth my time, I could give you space, but right now you've proven yourself as a nuisance.

$36/yr?? It can cost more just to buy the domain name sometimes.

Power to you, Darkyth! Working for the man at 15 seems so rewarding now. I'm just surprised you got a job. The market was so bad, I figured a PhD would be working at Wendy's, eating up the pre-adult and high school education jobs. It's good to see a kid working hard for the green.

Kyle, don't let Darkyth get to you. He's sarcastic, but he's harmless. It's like a big brother who beats you up, but would kick another kid's ass when he screws with you. You've been annoying in the past but if you keep on the straight and narrow, nobody will give you TOO hard of a time.
