even having the computer near the wireless outer can mess it up, because of the power supply, sitting a cell phone down next to it can screw it up etc..

And this thread is exactly why I refuse to go wireless.

I have a wireless setup in my house. The router is located downstairs next to my main computer.

The Setup
Upstairs I have another desktop, and my laptop. Both are on 802.11 g connections. There is roughly 150ft distance between me and the router, 4 walls and 1 floor. The walls are not drywall, but more of the felt type plaster walls, old house I know. The router is next to a DSL modem, a computer with a 500w PSU, a 19in CRT, a television that is on most of the time. Directly on the oppoisite side of the wall. no more than 5 feet from the equipment is a large freezer and a microwave.

So as you can see I dont have the most ideal setup for a wireless network, but for the 5 months that I have had it, I have not lost a connection on any game. I play EQ2 for hours most of the time and have never once had a DC. Same goes for EQ, but I cant say that I share the same amount of play time on the Emu as I do for EQ2 Live.

I use belkin componets because I have never had a issue with them. Linksys gave me problems awhile back with a B setup. Personally, I wouldnt mind having a nice Cisco router..... a one can dream right. /sigh

I cant speak for EQ over wireless, but i did have issues with mine.

Basically, I had my wireless router in the computer room and my laptop in the bedroom (work in bed while the misses is asleep).

And after 10misn of using wireless, my wireless router would drop out and lock up with 1 orange light.

What it was.. Was an overheating issue, I googled about it because every 10mins it would drop out (grr up off the bed, to the computer room, reboot the wireless router, back into the bedroom, rinse, repeat every 10ish mins).

So what Im saying I guess is check that is not over heating.

Hey sub, dumb question I know, but have you updated the drivers for it yet. That would of been my first recourse, but im a driver manic so i cant help it to much.

Also, and maybe this may not work, and I might catch some desrcetion over this, but have you tried tech support with sony. To my knowledge you dont need account to read forums. Go here

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/forums/list.m

Towards the bottom of the page is a Technical Support board. Search there, or even better, post your problems, but say that your not able to connect to their servers, and not the Emu's. They will more than likely have seen that issue and can direct you to the way to fix it quicker than any of us can.

I never update my drivers. I had a bad video driver incidence once.
Good idea about the sony forums. I am sure there is a lot more people there who have encountered this problem.
