There is no true classic server ATM, and in my eyes, a new, different client will define a true Classic Server. If you start to pass around an old client with out SOEs authorization, a lot of good players will not go for that, as it would be bootlegging.
I try to follow the classic "style" when I work my database - meaning I concentrate on zones that would be compatible with classic zones, old time drop rates, spawn rates, ect.
I probably shouldn't have called it "Classic" , but I do have hope that sooner or later, this will all pan out.
Rathe Server is a good, solid, custom server, that homes the official ax_classic db. The PoK books are active, and anyone who uses ax_classic DB can see where the sql for adding the books is included in the package. All the later expansion work is active, as it still it is in the DB and Rathe uses it.

Angel,
What expansions is the Rathe server running on right now?
I played on it last night for maybe an hour and got a 10 warrior and 10 Cleric.
So I want to know what I am in for.

The database has a lot of "spawned" zones from most eras, but I like to have detail and content in the zone too, so I tend to keep the plain ones shut down.
You should go to Rathe Forums and post there.

Don't get me wrong; There are many loots that need to be made more common - It's just instead of taking all the loots that are originally common and make rare ones rare, I made them all rare, and now have to go back and see which should be more common. This is after putting aside all the named mob drops.
Just making drops not only in a classic mood , but all around "everquest like", is a big job. There are many patterns and methods SOE used for drops.
