Yeah, actually SoD is fully functional with EQEmu on any server that is updated to use it. It is probably the best client EQEmu has ever had.

I have no ETA, unfortunately. Only Rogean is able to make the Public Login Server work with SoD and he has been busy with P1999 being down. My best guess is that the Public Login Server may work with SoD sometime after the P1999 issues are worked out.

Again, you can still play on PEQ using SoD right now without having to wait. I don't know which server you were planning to play on, but PEQ is a popular one and currently supports SoD on their own Login Server. You can find more details on their website if you are interested:

I have thought about setting up my own separate Login Server for a dual LS system like PEQ has, to at least give my players a way to try out the SoD client until the Public one works for it. I just haven't had much time yet to work on that as I have been busy with SoD work for EQEmu
