Default Regarding the pandemonium...

I must say, it sucked extra that Scruff left on my birthday....

HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ON MANCHUKWODAY?

I think most people here are feeling a little bit like this right now ...

Default Disappointing

Disappointing

All I have seen from Image and Scruffy is loyal work on this project. I shocked to here that devs are fighting amongst themselves. This is a team, a family. And Families may have their little disagreements here and there but for one to push another so far as to leave? It's just very disappointing that you can't work out your differences. I'm very sadden that Image and Scruffy are leaving and only hope they can come back and work out this but if not I wish them luck in their future projects and thank them for the work I've seen done. Thank you again image and Scruffy, Godspeed.

Hell Image is the only dev I remember from some 6 or 7 months ago. Probably becuase he made the biggest impact, in my mind.

All I can say is that if Image leaves, the project may have some big problems, and... we might have to go to... well... ethernalquest.

*hears screams and cries in the background*

What's wrong with ethernalquest?

*hears a bomb go off in the background*

Oh... yah.

Im sure that this one event didn't push the brunt of there decision. This project has moved a long way since I first have seen it start up. But unfortunatly, to most people working on the EMU its just a hobby. And obviously it takes a lot of invested time to get things working right, I really liked Image myself, talked to him quite a few times we always got along, Scruffy too. It is sad that they are leaving. But you can only wish them the best, Dev's come and go unfortunatly. Its like friends or co-workers, even relationships, sometimes things just have to move on and people get seperated. Its sad that this event has caused the sudden decision from Image and Scruffy to leave. I am in no way saying that they are unapreciated, but most people just "expect" them to keep working on the emulator. And at some point, you get sick of feeling obligated to something that earns you nothing. So I say farewell to them both, and give them kudos for the work they have done. And I wish them both good luck in this crazy game called life.

Still, it would be nice if one of them would change their mind, or forget about anything even happened.

If you leave a project like this over a fight, then its more then just a hobby I think.

Either way, I hope they find another project to bless, if it isn't back with EQemu, their talents will be well used somewhere I'm sure.

What he said.

You don't know the fully story people, but don't worry, the project is not going down the crapper at all.

While we did lose some great people, the project is in no way going to fold because they left. As other people said, devs come and go.

But, the hooker letania will always be around.. ewps =)

ps tbti.. if you see this pm me or get on IRC!

Obviously these two individulas were well liked with the number of responses to this thread. I have been following this project for quite some time and I very much appreciate the work that both have done for this project. Many people like myself rarely post but read the forums and keep up with this project very closely. Image has clearly done a lot of work on this project and has earned the respect of all EqEmu users. I would like to know what happened myself because I can remember when every update I saw had Image's name all over it. Sure devs come and go but usually they go because of their own personal lives and/or the lack of time to volunteer to the project. This appears not to be the case and that is also pretty sad. To both Image and Scruffy good luck and take care. For the rest of us good luck and I hope this is not the beginning of the end. Keep up the good work Devs and maybe take time for a group hug every once in a while!! :P

Image was more then the backbone, he brought back the project when it was almost dead.
... but always, Sad to see you go, when a Dev goes it's usually a good bye for good.

Good luck image.

Correct, project won't die, and if it does due to one dev, then it just shows One dev was running the show. And still, even if EQEMu dies, someone will come along with the source code and pick it up.
