Been having some issues with zone crashes lately, which means I've been taking down the server off and on to try and debug it. There's no use having a server up 24/7 if it's still crashing.

We've also been having a lot of severe thunderstorms around here in the last few days, my power has gone out off and on.

Finally, My router just determined that it's a piece of shit - so I'm going to replace it.

I apologize for the downtime, but it's been unavoidable.

I'm having problems logging on my characters now everytime i log on one it boots me back to server selection screen. But i think i can still create a new character adn play it and that works fine.

Finally, someone tells me, I couldn't figure out why no-one was playing. It's probably a router problem, I'll try and fix it.

It will go to the Character Selection Screen then it goes the the picture and after about 10 seconds or so it boots me to server selection screen. I'm about to try a new character really quick since i had some problems like this on other servers before and i was able to start another character just not play one i already have.

And no creating a new character does not work. Just tryed it.

Well, the Zone Server is down and out for the count.

The hard drive just crashed - Looks like I'm back to running off one server for a while, which isn't a big deal since not many people are on lately anyway.

First, thanks bUsh for this fine server.

I started plaing about a week ago and I made level 65 today. The last 15 levels were interesting as it was after you upgraded to DR4 and a lot of things broke after that.

1, Player HP is not being updated, I only know that I'm near death when I start doing Crippling Blows.

2, Targeting is not working properly, whether casting a spell or using an item ability.

3, Targeting self and using item ability for buffs works very weird. I get no message that I cast the spell, I don't get a buff icon, and I don't get the benefit of the buff...until I zone. Then I get the buff icon and the benefit.

4, When I kill a monster it says it was killed by 'an unseen hand' and not me, although I do get xp and loot rights.

5, Normal melee messages and weapon procs do not show up at all, nor does my character even move when attacking. I do get critical and crippling blow messages.

6, After I die I get booted off the game. Upon logging back on I'm back at my original bind location (is there a way to bind somewhere else?) but often I spawn under the world and fall endlessly.

7, I can't summon the 1h warrior epics but I can summon the 2h version and the red scabbard (although the scabbard doesn't work to split/join the epics).

Well that's about it, I'll try to play as much as possible so you can debug. Thanks again for the fun!

I too wanted to thank you for the great work on getting the live patch working with EQemu, great job there!

Anyways, I just dinged 65 yesterday, and will agree with Drak above me, alot of screwy things happening with the live version.

I do have a few tips/suggestions for people growing frustrated with the few bugs on the server.

First- healing, particularily with healing spells, you can heal others with your own healing spells, but targeting yourself, you get the <spell requirest target> msg, and spell does not cast. I would suggest doing an #itemsearch for healing potions.

Buffs - same as healing, few do land, group buffs work as long as you don't target yourself(I target npc's to buff myself)

As Drak stated, buffs do not appear in buff box till you zone.

I found a nifty way to see spell effects, I'm not sure if its related to me having a pet, or will work with someone without it. Anyways I go into options/filters/ and toggle show pet hits button when im in the zone, I am then able to see my pets dmg, monster dmg to my pet, and see spells cast by npc's.

I would suggest all new players make a hotkey, that says #zone nexus. When you die, you'll get the <you have lost experience> msg. when you see that, hit your zone button, will instead of returning you to bind, you will pop in nexus. Now, the reason I did that is everytime I died, and went to zone back to bind, I would instantly LD, and upon relogging in , I would be randomly placed in shar vahl(starting zone). I would sometimes be 20000ft in air, and fall to my death. When that happened, especially when I was still low levels, I would just lay there after I did the 20k dmg fall to death thing, unable to heal, etc, would just lay there, and have to /q out.
Upon loading back in game, I would ld on that character(must get bugged), and have to start the character over.

Well, thats all I can think of now, if I have anything else I can remember, I'll be sure to post it.

Looks like bUsh is going for the C# version of EQemu. Good luck, that's quite the project to take on.

C# is a programming language. To run the latest version developer releases (i.e. DR3, DR4) of EQEmu one must compile the source code. In this case the source is written in C#.
